Putting Children First is a flexible parenting programme that has been developed to augment existing services within a range of disciplines and settings.
Whilst its core principles and delivery methods are designed to maximise effective outcomes, we recognise that each setting and each client group has its own specific
needs and expectations. We believe that the best people to respond to those differences are you.
Putting Children First has, therefore, been tested for adaptability so that you can ensure that it is relevant to the people you work with and matches your existing skills set and delivery
setting.
Who delivers Putting Children First?
Putting Children First can be delivered by virtually any professional working with parents. From family mediators to legal professionals, Sure Start workers to family counsellors, Putting Children
First will add a new dimension to existing service delivery. We work with you to match the programme to your existing skills and client group.
What does the programme look like?
Putting Children First is a group programme – although it can be adapted for working with parents on an individual basis – that helps parents to explore their experiences of separation, understand
the effects on their children and develop strategies for building new post separation parenting relationships that put the needs of their children first. The programme aims to build empathy and
promote sustainable behavioural change.
What does the training look like?
Training to use the Putting Children First programme takes place over two days. The first day concentrates on gender awareness, understanding family structures and developing family focus. Day two
looks at the course structure, modes of delivery and key exercises. All practitioners who complete the course receive the 76 page training manual, a certificate of completion and access to a
dedicated support service.
How much will the course cost me?
Training in delivery of Putting Children First costs £1,000 for up to ten delegates. A further £100 per delegate is payable up to a course maximum of 16 delegates. Organisations with limited income
may qualify for discounted rates. Please contact us with details of your circumstances.
